If you are interested in learning a about an easy way you
can completely alter and improve the appearance of your kitchen and home
without spending a ton of money, you have come to the right place. During the
last several years, kitchen backsplashes have become an extremely popular
choice in modern and fashionable home design. The popularity might stem from
the fact that there are so many different backsplash options for homeowners to
choose from. From eye-catching and ornate to subtle and sweet, there are literally
hundreds of different ways you could design a kitchen backsplash for your home.
With your unique creativity and personal preference, you
might want to create a completely personalized backsplash for your kitchen that
no one else will be able to replicate. However, in the beginning, it might be
helpful for you to get some ideas that can help you start brainstorming. For this purpose, here are a few useful tips
and basic guidelines to help you decide on a backsplash that will make your
family proud and your neighbors jealous.
Mosaic Is Always In
When you start to look at the many different tile options
for your backsplash, you might start to feel somewhat overwhelmed at all that
you find. After all, there are tons of different options to consider and it can
be difficult to know which ones to choose for your particular home and sense of
style. If you aren’t sure which color patterns to go with on your backsplash,
remember that glass mosaic
tiles are always in style. Mosaic tile has been
around for a long time and it doesn’t seem to be going out of fashion any time
soon. In most cases mosaic tile can be a safe bet for nearly any backsplash.
Express Your Unique Self
Another helpful tip to remember is to express yourself. You
are a unique individual, so don’t be afraid to be that. You most likely have
your own unique color preferences and particular designs you like, so don’t be
afraid to let those things show through. In other words, you shouldn’t feel
like you have to follow all the currently popular trends for kitchen
backsplashes because your preferences will most likely be different from what
is currently “in”. Just remember to be yourself and let your backsplash show
off your unique style and stellar personality.
Make Sure The Backsplash Is Installed Correctly
Once you have picked out the perfect backsplash for your
kitchen, it is vital that you make sure to have it installed correctly. The
tiles that are used in a backsplash need to be accurately measured, cut, and
installed to ensure that everything functions properly as a whole. If it is not
installed correctly, you may end up with results that are less than
satisfactory.
If you are already skilled at working with and installing
kitchen tiles, you might be able to install the backsplash into your kitchen on
your own. However, this is definitely not recommended if you do not already
have the necessary skills. To avoid potential problems, it is usually best to
have a backsplash installed into a kitchen by a professional who can make sure
everything is done correctly.
Conclusion
When you explore the options and use a little bit of
creativity, you can design a fabulous backsplash for your kitchen.

ReplyDeleteI am in the thinking process of renovating our kitchen. The backsplash looks great, however I am not very crafty or handy so not sure if I can do it, however it is something to ponder.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't have a backsplash and have not thought much about it until reading this. Thanks for putting a bee in my bonnet. I love doing home reno's and this would be a really good project for me to do (and relatively inexpensive).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tips and encouragement. I'd always been a little hesitant about taking on this type of project and always drool over the displays at my home improvement store but I think I can actually do this now.
ReplyDeleteI am in no way handy or crafty or creative. This is something I actually think my hubby and I could do together. I could even get my daughter involved by having her help pick out the tiles:) Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteI still don't have a backsplash, but this gave me ideas. thanks!

ReplyDeleteI recently updated my kitchen. I couldn't find the tile I wanted and made my own so to speak. I used (4) 2x2 square tiles to make a 4x4 tile size using 2 different colors. It came out fabulous and I get compliments every time.
ReplyDeleteI really love this and am thinking this would look pretty good in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post! We have been flirting with the idea of installing a backsplash for a while.. I love the pattern shown here!

ReplyDeleteI need a backsplash in my kitchen and like your mosaic idea.
ReplyDeleteI had a vision of what I wanted for my back splash - white, black, and yellow. But when I went to every hardware store and tile store I could not find the right yellow in the right size. I got creative. I found a 2x2 square that was the right yellow. The back splash was going to use 4x4 spaces. So...I got the white 4x4 tile, and 2x2 in black and yellow. I had (4) 2x2 make a 4x4 by stacking 2 on top of each other alternating colors. I then made a checker board pattern over the stove. Everyone thought it was genius. I thought I was just being resourceful.
