  1. I am meatless everyday because I am a vegetarian. I don't see why people think they need meat for every meal since you really don't and you can have healthy meals that are very flavorful without meat added.

  2. This is a good idea, I'd like to start doing this. The chart is very helpful and seems easy to access and refer back to.

  3. I personally love the taste of many kinds of meat, but I'm also aware that Americans consume way more of it than necessary to meet our protein needs. I've read about Meatless Mondays and the huge burden beef production places on resources before, but this infographic really drives it home. Am I willing to give up some burgers each week to preserve fossil fuels and also improve my health? I should hope so! I need to find some great bean, egg and cheese recipes, but we already use ground turkey and chicken for most of our meals prepared at home. Thanks for sharing this vital information, and I hope you don't get run out of Iowa for publishing something against beef. LOL. I understand because I'm from Illinois and remember how Oprah got in trouble with the beef lobby years ago. We love cows, really we do!

  6. thank you for this post. in fact, I'm coming from a giveaway & I couldn't decide where to post first. I do animal rescue so the post about keeping your dog cool was great. I have a friend who lost her boxer to heat stroke last summer. then I saw the horse post. I have 2 rescued horses, both were near death when I got them, both mares. just the smell of a horse lowers my blood pressure & calm me down. was it Will Rogers that said something about the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man(or woman)?then I saw your meatless Monday post & here's where I landed. as a long time non meat eater(17 years)I can tell you I feel so much better. I have liver disease & biopsy showed the start of cirrhosis in 95. I went meat free in 97 & stopped the progress of the damage. we weren't made to eat the high protein diets so many people eat today. I didn't stop eating meat for my health , but it been a welcome bonus. thanks for your posts, we sure have a lot in common!!!

  7. We have at least one meatless meal a week and in general we are eating more fruits and vegetables, as well as legumes and nuts. It isn't that hard to not have meat once a week.

  8. I've been wanting to start the Meatless Mondays for some time now, and this has just reminded me that we need to start it!! It's a little tough to figure out what to eat for my meat and fish loving family, but I'm sure I can make a dish with tofu and they would be none the wiser :) I love the taste of it, and it does soak up the spices and sauces very well! I am bookmarking this so I remember to start this, on Monday! Thanks so much for the post, and reminder :)
