Britain remains
one of the most multi-cultural nations’ in the world, and its fashion and
design trends are influenced by styles from multiple regions. If there is one
cultural influence that stands out, however, it is the
style of the French, which has made the short journey across the Channel
and had a huge impact on the way in which Britons dress, act and remodel their
living spaces. French style and its unique design trends have the potential to
revolutionize the look of your home, particularly when applied to compact and
intimate spaces such as the bedroom.
With this in
mind, what are the prevailing French design trends and how can they help to
refresh your bedroom space? Consider the
following: -
1. Consider Rustic and Minimalist Design Principles
France is
renowned for its country landscape, and this has inspired a rustic design
trends that defines homes throughout rural regions. This has proved to be
extremely popular in the UK, as home-owners have the potential to apply a
rustic and minimalist design to their bedroom and develop a truly romantic
space that still manages to create the illusion of luxury and open-plan grandeur.
This is particularly suitable for individuals who own new-build properties, as
the compact nature of these homes demands a design ethos that optimizes floor
space.
2. Paris Meets Provence
Although the
fusion of sophisticated
Parisian flair and relaxed French country style is typically associated
with the living room, it is increasingly being applied to the bedroom. This is
a unique, diverse and textually fascinating design philosophy, and one that
utilizes fixtures such a trumeau mirror to infuse character and innovation into
an otherwise standardize living space. This is a continuation of modern
alternative trends in the UK, which encourages the fusion of opposing themes to
create an entirely unique look.
3. The Classic French Bed
Whenever you
consider French furniture the first item that springs to mind is the
traditional and spectacular four-poster bed. This is an iconic feature of French
country style, and it remains popular among UK residents who have a fondness
for nostalgia and flamboyant design principles. While purchasing a classic
French bed or associated furniture is not easy in the UK due to the lack of
availability, outlets such as The
French Bedroom Company provide a comprehensive range of products at
relatively affordable prices.
This look is so beautiful I just love it. This looks so classy country.

Although this is a beautiful bed-frame I am still strongly attached to my full-wave waterbed. I love going to bed at night and climbing into the nice warm bed. My bed also offers 6 storage drawers on each side plus a long storage area from head to foot in the center portion of the platform my bed sits on. I am not ready to give that up.
ReplyDeletei love this bed frame it's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love this style but not sure I would like cleaning such detailed furniture.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, as you said, "...the fusion of sophisticated Parisian flair and relaxed French country style is typically associated with the living room..." When I was younger I had the typical 70s little girl's french provincial bedroom set, it was white, and included the four-poster bed, probably similar to the style you mentioned. Why is this style not in my bedroom now? Especially the one you pictured! :)

ReplyDeleteHi,
I absolutely love your style.
It looks so much better rearranged. The orange cushion on the couch,
the rug and the cute planter on the coffee table add so much cheer to the room.
I just convinced trevor to rearrange the living room so the TV isnt
on the wall staring at you when you first walk in -
makes everything feel so much brighter.
Really this post is useful for us.
Thanking you,
Fran
